Choice matrix field
A grid of questions sharing the same answer scale — rate several items at once.
What it does#
The Choice matrix field is a grid: each row is a statement or item, and each column is a shared answer option. Respondents pick one column per row, so you can ask many similar questions in a compact table instead of repeating a whole field per item.
Settings#
- Rows — the items or statements being rated, one per line.
- Columns — the shared answer scale (e.g. Disagree → Agree).
- Allow multiple — let respondents pick more than one column per row.
- Required — every row must be answered before submit.
Example#
A satisfaction survey rating "Support", "Pricing", and "Ease of use" each on a 1–5 scale is one Choice matrix — three rows, five columns — not three separate fields.
Related fields#
- Opinion scale — a single numbered scale for one question.
- Star rating — a single 1–5 rating.
