/Single select field

Single select field

Pick exactly one option from a list — shown as tappable cards or a compact dropdown.

What it does#

The Single select field lets respondents pick exactly one option from a list you define. It's the field formerly called "Multiple choice", and it now covers the old Dropdown too — same data, two display styles.

Cards or dropdown#

Use the layout toggle in the property panel to switch between Radio (tappable cards, great when every option is worth seeing) and Dropdown (a compact picker, best for long lists that would otherwise push the next question off-screen). Card layouts can also be arranged into one or more columns.

Settings#

  • Options — one per line; each can carry an optional description, and (for paid forms) a price and quantity.
  • Allow "Other" — adds a free-text option respondents can type into.
  • Randomize options — shuffle the order on each load to reduce position bias.
  • Default value — pre-select an option.
  • Required — disallow blank submissions.
  • Half-width — pair side-by-side with another field on desktop.
  • Multi select — when respondents can pick more than one.
  • Picture choice — when an image makes the option clearer than text.
  • Yes / No — for a single true/false answer.
